REFRESHING THREADS: Wendy Norman, Sally Huguenin and Susan Callus want other textile lovers to bring ideas to the Stitched Up Textile Festival information session on Monday.
After 11 years, rethink on festival: to go biennial, needing new ideas

THERE will be no Stitched Up Textile Festival in Wangaratta this year.
The festival committee has voted to make it a biennial event, with the next festival running in 2011.
Now it is hitting the ‘refresh’ button to provide an opportunity to explore new ideas and directions.
Committee vice-chairperson, Sally Huguenin, said the festival had been run annually for 11 years, mainly under the same committee, which was rethinking the future.
"On Monday we are holding an information session at the Workshop Space to discuss the future of the festival," she said.
"We’d like community feedback and new ideas, new people, and maybe new directions for the future.
"Representatives of all the textile groups have been invited but all interested people are welcome to come and have their say on the future of this important community event."
Items for discussion include the festival going biennial, its location, structure, length of time, the committee, and future opportunities.
The committee has chosen ‘Fabric of Our Community’ as the 2011 festival theme, celebrating the ongoing strength of the textile industries, textile groups and enthusiasts within the Wangaratta community.
The featured craft will be weaving.
The information session will start at 5.30pm on Monday, March 15, at The Workshop Space behind the Wangaratta Exhibitions Gallery in Ovens Street.
