DESPITE being close in terms of ladder positions, College was unable to match Centrals in the pair’s top three clash with the Hawks running out winners by 36 points.

With the Blues sitting third on the ladder, they were expected to take it right up to the unbeaten Hawks and that’s how it panned out in the first term as both sides had plenty of chances in attack.

As it was, the Hawks booted two goals from two shots while the Blues could manage just four behinds.

From then on though, Centrals extended its lead at every change and booted four goals to one in the final term to put the game well and truly beyond doubt.

Isaac Willett was the star for the Hawks with five goals, however, he received great support from Jayden Burt, Matthew Campbell and Tom Deans.

For the Blues, Jackson Clarke was prominent all day while Luke Corker and Thomas Nolan also stood tall.

KANGAROOS kept its finals hopes alive with a 54-point victory over Junior Magpies on Saturday, which saw it move within a game of fifth spot.

Heading into the match as favorite, the Roos were always in control, leading by 16 points at the first change before extending their lead to five goals at the main change.

The Magpies performed well in the third term, kicking two goals to the Roos’ three before the margin again ballooned in the final term.

Zane Brendel finished with five majors to be the Roos’ best player while Zac Laffy, Alex Dunstan an Liam Patrick also performed well.

William Reilly, Henry Gormly and Bryce Ralph were the best for the Magpies.

BRIGHT continued its push for a top three finish after brushing aside Saints White by 71 points on Sunday.

The Mountain Boys remain in fourth position but are locked on the same points as third placed College, with only percentage keeping the Blues ahead.

But Bright would have been happy with how it performed on Sunday, racing out of the blocks to lead by three goals at the main change before a nine-goal second half put the finishing touches on the win.

A BRILLIANT first half performance was the catalyst of Saints Black’s 47-point victory over Tigers on Sunday.

The Saints kept the Tigers scoreless while slamming on six goals to lead by 41 points at the main change.

Ryley Sharp, Brady Sharp and Luke Roche were Saints’ best while Thomas Ryan and Marley Stevenson tried hard for the Tigers.
