MANSFIELD Clay Target Club held its monthly shoot on Sunday in cold and overcast conditions.
Allan and Michelle Aitken from Mansfield Concrete Pumping sponsored the day’s events, which saw more than 30 shooters attend.
A 20 Target Double Barrel Cash Divide kicked the day off with Phil McDonough, David Luelf, Billie Vogelzang, Craig Skinner, Tom Allen, Ben Vogelzang, Daryl Hunt, Tom Apps and Domingo Diaz scoring 20/20 to take home a share of the cash prize.
The second event was a 25 target Single Barrel Championship in which no one managed a perfect score.
Daryl Hunt (Wangaratta), Anthony Kirley and Trevor Newman all got close with 24/25 and went into a shoot off to decide the overall winner.
Daryl held his nerve to win the overall and AA grade prize with 29/30 from Anthony Kirley 28/30.
Trevor missed an earlier one and had to settle for the A grade win with 25/27, with Ben Vogelzang second on 23/25.
Peter Grant (Alexandra) won B grade with 23/26 form Billie Vogelzang 23/26.
Leo Doyle (Alexandra) won C grade with 18/25 from Craig Skinner 17/25.
Next was a 25 target Continental Cash Divide, which saw Daryl Hunt collect AA grade with 25/25.
Ben Vogelzang won A grade with 24/25, while Tom Allen and Brad Rodger shared B grade with 22/25 and in C grade Kurt Northausen (Echuca) won with 20/25.
To finish off the card there was a Deauville Doubles Championship shot over 20 pairs of targets.
Nicholas Kirley and Daryl Hunt were the only pairing that managed to shoot a clean score of 20/20 and take the win outright.
Another three teams were tied for second on 19/20, which meant a shoot off to decide the runners up.
Ben Vogelzang and David Luelf shot another seven pairs of targets to see off the challengers and claim second place with 26/27.
Well done to Daryl Hunt who missed just one of the 90 targets he was presented with during the afternoon, a great effort in the dull conditions.
Thanks to all who helped out on the day and to Michelle and Allan for their generous support.
