DONATION: Gabrielle Mehegan accepts $1000 cash for the Mansfield Wildlife Shelter from Hotel Delatite proprietor Paul Appleby.

THE construction of a raptor flight house at Mansfield Wildlife Shelter got a financial boost last week when Hotel Delatite proprietor Paul Appleby handed over more than $1000 raised from a meat raffle.

Cathy Cooper of Mansfield ran a meat raffle at the hotel every Friday night over the last six months, thanks to the kind donation of a meat tray each week by Mr Appleby.

The money will go towards the flight house to provide more space for the larger birds at the shelter.

The flight house will cost about $3500 and will be 15x7.5x4.5 metres in size.
