Battle for Campagna Cup

SOUTH Wangaratta Reserve will come alive tomorrow when the Wangaratta City Football Club hosts the annual Campagna Cup.

The prestigious regional pre-season tournament, which is running for a 26th year, sees teams competing for the much-wanted silverware with prizemoney of up to $4500 up for grabs.

Senior men’s teams from Shepparton, Kyabram, Melbourne and Albury are expected to feature heavily.

Wangaratta was forced to miss last week’s Andronicos Cup, however, is ready and raring to go in its first hit-out of the season.

A barbecue and pasta stall will be available while cold drinks and ice-creams are also available.

Youngsters can also enjoy a penalty shoot-out competition.
