Quick wickets the key

STRIKE FORCE: Joe Doyle will be a key player for City Colts in tomorrow’s final round.

CITY Colts will be searching for early wickets tomorrow when their vital clash with Whorouly/Gapsted resumes.

The Colts were bundled out for just 133 last week in a match they need to win to secure a finals berth.

While that total looks to be well short of competitive, Kent Braden grabbed a late wicket to leave the Maroons 1/6 at stumps.

Braden will need to fire tomorrow along with Joe Doyle and Peter Thrum for the Colts to have any chance at qualifying for another finals series.

Maroons captain Luke O’Keefe looms as the key for his side given his run of good form of late while Lakpriya Perera is another the Colts will need to grab cheaply.

In other matches, Beechworth will be looking to sew up third position when it meets Bruck tomorrow.

Yarrawonga Mulwala will be searching for an outright victory to finish its season off on a high note.

While in the two matches which didn’t start last weekend, Corowa travels to meet Rovers United while Wangaratta Magpies host Rutherglen at the Norm Minns Oval.
